IMATS NYC 2012 Part 2: The Haul

Bookmark and Share
This year’s IMATS haul was pretty focused. I didn’t have a written list like last year, but it was pretty much in my head. Here’s what I bought and why…

On the list from Nigel Beauty Emporium/Monda Studio was a much needed makeup palette and spatula.
Once I saw these Ms. Adoro Nail Strips, I had to have them. Their texture, design and overall cuteness made them a must have.  The two black packages are for fingers and the orange package can be used for your toes.
I’ve been a fan of eyebrow shapers for years, but this contraption from Eve Pearl folds up into a little bit of a thing. Perfect for dropping in your makeup bag for spur of the moment touchups.

Celebre Pro powder in Dark (L) Celebre Pro foundation in Dark 4 (R)

I’ve been loving my Mehron Celebre Pro HD foundation, as you may have seen in my review, so I wanted to get a couple more products to add to my collection. First is their HD Loose Mineral Finishing Powder and then another foundation I thought would be perfect for contouring. Mehron has high quality products for drugstore prices. It’s insane and an absolute must-try in my book.

I had my eye on this Kett Sett powder compact for invisible HD powder to have in a more purse friendly form.

here are a few odds and ends I had on my mind. I passed up on Nurturing Force’s Blot Out Offensive last year and promised I wouldn’t again. This aloe based cream is a barrier you apply before makeup, just as you’d use any primer. It says it can help prevent oiliness and the dreaded makeup melt and I love it so far. I will do a full review once I can test it fully on June NYC temps. You can also used it alone which is brilliant, considering many primers become ashy on my brown skin. I have also been obsessed with getting the blackest black possible for my liner and having a big fluffy powder brush. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics’ loose powder and the Bdellium tools angled face brush take care of both needs respectively.
And since NYX was a no-show at last years show, I had to get a couple things: Tango with Bronzing stick for a glow on the go, Lip Liner pencil in Currant and one of their new cream eyeshadows.
Now, let the testing begin!
